Girl with two thumbs up

Initial Visit

Your child’s first visit to the pediatric dentist will be both introductory and informative. Our staff and doctors will review your child’s medical history and medications as well as an overall view of your child’s health. You and your child will be given a tour of the office and you child introduced to some of the “sights and sounds” of a pediatric dental practice. At a minimum, an examination of your child’s teeth will occur along with the discussion of oral hygiene recommendations, dietary considerations and reduction of risk factors for dental disease.

Depending upon your child’s level of cooperation, often a cleaning will occur along with dental x-rays if necessary or appropriate. Our goal with the first visit is to start the process of acquainting you and your child with our office. We will provide you with as much information as possible regarding your child’s current dental health, growth and development as well as our recommendations to achieve optimal dental health.

Dental Insurance Coverage

As a courtesy to you, we submit dental claims. We are “in-network” with many insurance companies. We also file claims for carriers that we are considered “out of network.”

It is important that you know your own benefits and how they work. Dental insurance benefits do not work in the same manner as medical insurance benefits. Your employer’s Human Resources department can provide you with your plan benefits and details. Our computer system will calculate what your estimated benefits will be and we will provide you with a treatment estimate when treatment is necessary. Exact benefits can be obtained, but require a Pre-Treatment Determination to be mailed to the insurance company. A usual response will take approximately three to four weeks.

Regardless of any dental insurance benefits that might exist, the patient is always legally responsible for the entire cost of dental treatment.

Payment Options

Unless prior arrangements are made, payment in full is expected at the time treatment is provided. We accept cash, personal checks and all major credit cards.
